Martha H. Zanconato, 82, of 176 Columbus Ave. died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Winooski, Vt., on Jan. 10, 1921, daughter of John and Rose Penalis Latwis, she was a 1939 graduate of Winooski High School.
Before moving to Pittsfield in 1952, she lived in Great Barrington and Boston.
Mrs. Zanconato was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and a past member of the Women’s Medical Auxiliary Society.
She also participated in many volunteer activities.
Her husband, Dr. Guerrino J. Zanconato, whom she married June 16, 1941, died Dec. 23, 1978.
She leaves three sons, Thomas J. Zanconato of Lee, James R. Zanconato of Miami and Buddy Zanconato of Pittsfield; two daughters, Joanne Kittler and Susan Lefaive, both of Pittsfield; 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Martha H. Zanconato of Pittsfield, who died Sept. 6, 2003, will be tomorrow at 11:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at noon at Mount Carmel Church celebrated by the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, pastor of St. Ann’s Church in Lenox.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Zanconato also leaves her beloved nephew, John Mattos of Essex Junction, Vt., and her beloved daughters-in-law, Mary Zanconato and Bernadette Zanconato, as well as her beloved son-in-law, Robert Lefaive. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
