Frances R. Goetze

Frances R. Goetze, 79, of 40 Old Stockbridge Road died Saturday evening at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Deskford, County Banffshire, Scotland, on March 21, 1924, daughter of Alexander and Mina Gray McCulloch, she emigrated to this country at the age of 5, attended grammar schools in the Boston area and was a 1942 graduate of Jeanne D’Arc Academy in Milton.
She also graduated from Edgewood Park Junior College in New York in 1944. She moved to Lenox in 1948.
Mrs. Goetze was a medical secretary for many years, working in various doctors’ offices in Pittsfield. She retired in 1984.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing and cross-stitching.
Her husband, Joseph L. Goetze, whom she married Feb. 3, 1948, died Sept. 16, 1995.
She leaves two sons, Joseph L. Goetze of Pittsfield and Christopher W. Goetze of Lee; a daughter, Cynthia Potts of Rochester, N.H.; two sisters, Mary Armstrong of Lenox and Ann Thompson of London, and four grandsons.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A private graveside service for Frances R. Goetze will be conducted tomorrow at Mountain View Cemetery in Lenox by the Rev. Stephen Booth, rector of Trinity Church.
There will be no calling hours. Mrs. Goetze also is survived by four grandsons, Kevin Goetze, Travis Potts and Russell and Craig Goetze. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Lenox Ambulance Squad in care of ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.
