Doris V. “Dot†Walsh, 69, of 120 Raymond Drive died Thursday at home after a long illness.
Born in Hinsdale on April 26, 1934, daughter of Edward C. and Zella Witherall Walsh, she attended schools in Hinsdale and then in Dalton, where she moved when she was 10.
Miss Walsh was employed for 40 years by Price Chopper supermarket in Lenox as a cashier, meat wrapper, and later as an office secretary, retiring in 1993. Prior to that, she had worked at the former Central and Adams Super markets, both in Pittsfield.
A nature lover, she enjoyed picking strawberries, walking in the woods, feeding the birds and gardening.
She leaves a sister, Kay A. Harris of Dalton, and a niece and her husband, Dale and Domenico Suppappola, with whom she resided.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Doris V. “Dot†Walsh, 69, died Aug. 21, 2003. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
She will be sadly missed by her niece, Dale Suppappola, and her husband, Dom; her nieces, Diana Garvey and Bonnie Callaghan, both of Dalton, and Donna Reynolds and Margaret Harris, both of Pittsfield; her nephew, Thomas Reynolds, and her brother-in-law, Robert Harris.
In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
