MaryAnn Wohlfahrt, 60, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
She was the mother of Barbara McMahon of Dalton.
Born in Poughkeepsie on June 27, 1943, daughter of Atwood and Pauline Allers Rose, she was a 1961 graduate of F.D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park.
She also graduated from Dutchess Community College in 198 with an associate’s degree in nursing.
A registered nurse, she was employed at St. Francis Hospital, retiring in 2000. She had also worked at the Treasure Chest Restaurant for 15 years.
She was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Poughkeepsie.
She enjoyed reading and gardening.
She and her husband, Arthur F. Wohlfahrt, were married Aug. 20, 1961.
Besides her husband and her daughter, she leaves another daughter, Lisa Hunt of Chicago, and five grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Calling hours for MaryAnn Wohlfahrt will be Sunday, Aug. 17, from 2 to 6 at the WILLIAM G. MILLER & SON FUNERAL HOME, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Funeral services will follow at 6 at the funeral home.
Burial will be Monday for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter. If directions are needed, call 1-845-0241 or visit www.wmgmillerfuneralhome.com. MaryAnn had a deep love of animals of all kinds.
She leaves her sons-in-law, Daniel McMahon and Gregory Hunt, and her grandchildren, Rachel, Ryan and Kelly McMahon and Bryan and Kevin Hunt.
