Margaret L. Wright, 83, formerly of Pittsfield, died yesterday at Bedford Village Nursing Home in New Bedford.
Born in Malden on Sept. 9, 1919, daughter of Samuel J. and Julia Agnes Foley Gross, she graduated from Malden High School and moved to Pittsfield in 1941.
She later resided in Lynn for a short time.
Mrs. Wright was a homemaker.
Her husband, Merton Stanley Wright, whom she married Nov. 8, 1941, in St. Joseph’s Church in Medford, died in February 1995.
She leaves a son, John S. Wright of Federal Way, Wash.; three daughters, Barbara W. Amicone of Bradenton, Fla., Dorothy M. Wright Irwin of Lynn and Beverly M. Buckley of Monroe, Conn., eight grandchildren and a great-grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Margaret L. Wright, who died Aug. 12, 2003, will be Thursday at 10 at BOULEVARD FUNERAL HOME, 223 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Anthony’s Church in New Bedford.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Charles James Gross and John Francis Gross, and a sister, Helen Frances Blades. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
