Margaret C. Knollmeyer, 90, of Hickory, N.C., died at the Lutheran Nursing Home in Hickory on Aug. 6.
She was a native of Pittsfield and lived here until 1980, when she and her husband moved to Hickory.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 25, 1912, daughter of James J. and Mary Hynes Crowley, she grew up in Pittsfield and attended local schools, graduating in 1930 from Pittsfield High School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church while in Pittsfield, and of St. Aloysius’ Catholic Church after she moved to Hickory.
Her husband, Donald R. Knollmeyer, whom she married on Nov. 26, 1936, in St. Charles’ Church, is deceased.
She leaves three sons, Donald Knollmeyer and Marc M. Knollmeyer, both of Charlotte, N.C., and Alan C. Knollmeyer of Hickory; three daughters, Bonny Loescher of Bramalea, Ontario, Elaine Jotz of Poncha Inlet, Fla., and Donna Whitener of Hickory; 14 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- There will be a Funeral Mass for Margaret C. Knollmeyer today at 11 at St. Aloysius’ Catholic Church, with Father Ed Sheridan officiating.
Calling hours are today from 10 to 11 at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hickory. Mrs. Knollmeyer was predeceased by five brothers and one sister.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Aloysius Curch, 921 2nd St., N.E., Hickory, NC 28601. BASS-SMITH FUNERAL HOME of Hickory is in charge of arrangements.
