Angeline M. Bloomingdale, 87, of 140 Melbourne Road died Tuesday afternoon at Laurel Lake Center for Health and Rehabilitation, where she had resided for 10 months.
Born in Montreal on Feb. 5, 1916, daughter of Giuseppe and Amelia Maria Zaffer, she was a 1934 graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Troy, N.Y.
She moved to Pittsfield in 1940.
She was employed as a lab technician at Berkshire Medical Center for 18 years, retiring in 1978.
She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church.
Her husband, William Bloomingdale, whom she married April 17, 1940, in St. Teresa’s Church, died in 1960.
She leaves two sons, Walter A. Bloomingdale of Phoenix and William J. Bloomingdale Jr. of Northampton, Pa.; two daughters, Jean F. Aulisio of Pittsfield and Shirley A. Samale of Lenox; a brother, James Zaffer of Melbourne, Fla., 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Angeline M. Bloomingdale, 87, died in Pittsfield on Tuesday. Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 8, from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at Mount Carmel Church, celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Fellin, C.S.S.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Thursday, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Mount Carmel Church or HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
