Lorene Baccaro, 48, of 89 Raymond Drive died Tuesday afternoon at home.
Born in Carona, Calif., on Aug. 21, 1954, daughter of Gerald P. and Elizabeth A. Bell Erb of Dalton, she moved to Dalton in 1963 and was a 1972 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.
She also graduated from Elms College in 1976 and earned her master’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts.
Mrs. Baccaro had been a technical development engineer at GE Plastics for 24 years, specializing in medical, industrial and consumer applications.
She began her career in research and development, working under the late Dan Fox, and later worked in technical marketing. She was credited for several patents and wrote numerous technical papers.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes’ Church. She was active in the community, especially in school-related projects and programs in support of her children.
She and her husband, Robert J. Baccaro, would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Aug. 12.
Besides her parents and her husband, she leaves a son, Brian Baccaro at home; a daughter, Brenda Baccaro at home; three brothers, Gerald Erb of Katy, Texas, Kevin Erb of Los Angeles, and John Erb of North Andover, and her grandmother, Laura Erb of Minot, N.D.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Lorene Erb Baccaro died Tuesday at home with her family. Besides her parents, her husband, her children, her brothers and her grandmother, she leaves a large extended family.
The funeral will be Saturday, June 28, at 9:15 at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St., Dalton, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at St. Agnes’ Church by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.
