Edna A. Mills

Edna A. Mills, 86, died Saturday evening at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield, where she had resided since April 2002.

Born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., on June 4, 1917, daughter of Clarence and Cora Shatney Hand, she was educated in schools there.

She moved to Belrica following her marriage to Gordon H. Mills and then moved to Lee in 1950.

They made their home on High Lawn Farm.

Mrs. Mills was employed by the former Park Cleaners in Lee for many years, retiring in 1986, at which time she moved to Dalton.

She enjoyed bowling at Candle Lanes in Pittsfield, and sewing.

She leaves her husband, of Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, whom she married July 15, 1934; a daughter, Gordine A. Galusha of Dalton; a granddaughter, three great-grandsons and a great-great-grandson.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Edna Mills will be conducted Wednesday, June 25, at 11:30 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor of St. Agnes’ Church in Dalton.

Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:30 until the time of the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee MA 01238. Mrs. Mills leaves her loving granddaughter, Christine Meunier, and her husband, Mark, her great-grandsons, Matthew, Patrick and Daniel, and her great-great-grandson, Tyler. She also leaves her devoted son-in-law, Gib. She was predeceased by her grandson, Mark, in 1984.
