Margaret H. “Peggy” Stracuzzi

Margaret H. “Peggy” Stracuzzi, 67, of 15 Zoar St. died Friday morning at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 14, 1935, daughter of John Frederick Lummus Sr. and Margaret Mary Shea Lummus, she was a 1955 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

She was employed by GE for 26 years in the power transformer department, retiring in 1990 as a supervisor in the stock room.

Previously, she had worked at Kirk’s Variety.

Mrs. Stracuzzi was a communicant of St. Charles’ Church and a volunteer at its bingo.

She enjoyed summer vacations at Hampton Beach.

Her husband, Joseph G. Stracuzzi, whom she married Aug. 4, 1956, died Oct. 19, 1995.

She leaves two sons, Michael J. Stracuzzi and Daniel J. Stracuzzi, both of Pittsfield; four daughters, Nancy Banach, Jane Holmes and Kathleen Stracuzzi, all of Pittsfield, and Lynn Stracuzzi of Henderson, Nev.; a brother, Daniel R. Lummus of Dalton; a sister, Beth E. Bordeau of Pittsfield; nine grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Margaret H. “Peggy” Lummus Stracuzzi, 67, died June 20, 2003. Peggy was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched.

She is also survived by her sons-in-law, Jeffrey Holmes and William Banach; her daughter-in-law, Teresa Stracuzzi; her future son-in-law, Brian Kelly ; her loving grandchildren, Jennifer, Becky, Jeffrey, Christopher and Azya Stracuzzi, Mikayla and Michael Holmes, and Justin Christopher and Dakota Thompson, and her great-granddaughter, Katelyn Clark; her future grandson-in-law, Shane Clark; her brother-in-law, Donald Bordeau; her sister-in-law, Mary Lummus; her nephews, James F. “JF” Lummus and Daniel Lummus; her niece and goddaughter, Margaret Bordeau; another niece, Jackie Bolinowski; and her godson, Paul Benjamin. She was predeceased by a brother, J. Frederick Lummus Jr.

Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:15 from the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Charles’ Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to St. Charles’ Church in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
