Genevieve Conti, 78, of 9 Pleasure Ave., died yesterday at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center.
Born in Cheshire on April 6, 1925, daughter of Joseph and Nell Fertek Wanat, she was a 1943 graduate of the former Adams High School.
She was a resident of Pittsfield for most of her life.
Mrs. Conti was employed by the former B.J. Paper Co., retiring in 1982. Prior to that, she had been employed by the former Mohawk Beverage Co. as a secretary and in the ordnance department at GE.
She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church, and a member of the American Associaton of Retired Persons and Itam Lodge.
She leaves her husband, Michael A. Conti Sr., whom she married Aug. 2, 1948; a son, Michael A. Conti Jr. of Hingham; a daughter, Jacalyn Conti of Loudonville, N.Y.; two sisters, Cecelia Lepak of Adams and Emilie Czelusniak of Adams, and four grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Genevieve Conti, who died in Albany, N.Y., on May 17, 2003, will be Tuesday, May 20, at 10 at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor of St. Mary’s Church, officiating.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow, May 19, from 4 to 7. If friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Conti was the proud grandmother of Amanda and Audra Boisen of Loudonville and Allison and Kathryn Conti of Hingham.
