John Scaduto, 81, of 71 Dickinson Ave. died Monday at Hillcrest Commons, where he had been admitted April 28.
Born in Pittsfield on June 22, 1921, son of Michael and Anna Gallo Scaduto, he graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1939.
An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe.
He received several decorations.
Mr. Scaduto was employed by GE Plastics as a plastic compound analyst for 16 years, retiring in 1982.
Prior to that, he was employed by Procter & Gamble Co. in Chicago for 25 years.
His wife, the former Lola Todd, died in February 1957.
He leaves a daughter, Jill Ann Griffith of Pittsfield; two brothers, Frank Scaduto of Richmond and Andrew Scaduto of San Jose, Calif., two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- At the request of John Scaduto, 81, there will be no funeral or calling hours.
Cremation will take place. Beloved father of Jill Ann Griffith. Loving grandfather of Brandon John Griffith and Julianna Porter, and loving great-grandfather of Jacinda Nicole Griffith. Dear brother of Frank Scaduto and Andrew Scaduto. He was predeceased by a brother, William Scaduto. FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., is in charge of arrangements.
