Debra G. Forte, 49, of 378 Elm St., died Thursday at the home of her mother, Mary L. Forte of 605 Williams St.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 27, 1954, daughter of Mary Ruscetta Forte and the late Rosario Forte, she graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1971.
She also attended Berkshire Community College.
Miss Forte was employed by GE Plastics for 27 years, until leaving in 2001 because of a disability.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. She was past treasurer and board member of the GE Athletic Association.
She enjoyed traveling, cooking, walking and going to the beach in the summer.
Besides her mother, she leaves a daughter, Doreen Wasiuk of Dudley; her maternal grandmother, Rosa Iri Ruscetta of Pittsfield, and two grandchildren. A son, Christopher M. Forte, died in a motorcycle accident Sept. 22, 2000.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Debra G. Forte, 49, who died Thursday, May 1, 2003, will be Tuesday, May 6, at 9 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at Sacred Heart Church by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor.
Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow, May 5, from 4 to 8. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christopher M. Forte Scholarship Fund at Pittsfield High School or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
Beloved mother of Doreen Wasiuk and beloved daughter of Mary L. Forte; cherished grandmother of Angela M. Jokinen of Pittsfield and Anthony John Jokinen of Dudley; loving granddaughter of Rosa Iri Ruscetta of Pittsfield. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by a son, Christopher M. Forte, who died in a motorcycle accident on Sept. 22, 2000.
