Isabelle Mary Plankey, 96, of 26 Merriam St. died Sunday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided since February.
Born in Winooski, Vt., on Dec. 29, 1906, daughter of George and Cecile Gennette Mongeon, she attended schools in Vermont and Pittsfield.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Plankey had once worked at GE and the former Eaton Paper Co.
She was a communicant of St. Mark’s Church and a former member of the Franco-American Club.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crafts.
Her husband, Joseph Plankey, died in 1966.
Mrs. Plankey leaves a son, Robert J. Plankey of Lee; two daughters, Irene C. White and Marjorie R. Whalen, both of Pittsfield; 14 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Isabelle Mary Mongeon Plankey, who died Sunday, April 20, 2003, will be Thursday, April 24, at 10:15 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 at St. Mark’s Church by the Rev. Henry L. Dorsch, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Plankey may be made to the St. Mark’s Church Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
