Rodger E. Langdon

Rodger E. Langdon, 85, of Sugar Hill Assisted Living, died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 14, 1918, son of Albert and Maude Culver Langdon, he attended city schools.
Mr. Langdon was manager of the toy department of the former Big N department store in Pittsfield for 14 years, retiring in 1973.
Before that, he worked at the former England Brothers department store for 21 years and had been house manager of the former Berkshire Public Theatre for eight years.
He was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and an altar server at funerals for many years. He also was in charge of arranging for altar servers at funerals.
He was a member of the Ralph J. Froio Senior Center, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and the American Association of Retired Persons.
He leaves his niece and caregiver, Dolores A. Farrar of Cheshire.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Rodger E. Langdon, 85, died Friday, April 18, 2003. The funeral will be Wednesday, April 23, at 9 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot in Pittsfield Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, April 22, from 4 to 7. He leaves his niece and caregiver, Dolores A. Farrar of Cheshire.
