Angelina Gilardi, 95, formerly of 15 Holmeswood Terrace, died Monday at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center, where she had resided since Jan. 29.
Born in Sorio, province of Vicenza, Italy, on Jan. 27, 1908, daughter of Augusto and Antonia Florio Levante, she moved with her family to Pittsfield at the age of 13. She was educated in schools in Italy and Pittsfield.
Mrs. Gilardi was employed for 42 years by GE in Pittsfield, retiring from the former power transformer department in 1969.
She was a communicant of All Souls’ Church in Pittsfield and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners’ clubs.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and gardening.
Her husband, Myron E. Gilardi, whom she married Aug. 27, 1927, died Feb. 25, 1963.
She leaves a daughter, Carole Jenny of Stockbridge; a sister, Alba M. Scarsi of Lenox, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mrs. Angelina Levante Gilardi, 95, died Monday, April 14, 2003. Because of Good Friday, a Liturgy of the Word will take place Friday, April 18, at 10 at All Souls’ Church, Pembroke Avenue. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 21, at 10 at All Souls’ Church. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME will be Thursday, April 17, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to All Souls’ Church in care of the funeral home, 3 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Beloved mother of Carole Jenny. Loving grandmother of J. Scott Jenny, Paula Jenny and Mark Jenny; loving great-grandmother of Mikayla, Duncan and Madison Jenny. Dear sister of Alba M. Scarsi. Mrs. Gilardi was predeceased by two brothers, Attilio and Albert Levante.
