Gary V. Burtt

Gary V. Burtt, 66, of 115 Egremont Ave., died at Berkshire Medical Center on Wednesday.
Born in Blain, Maine, Nov. 28, 1936, son of the Rev. Vernon and Hortense Craig Burtt, he was a graduate of Worcester Classical High School and of the GE apprentice program in Pittsfield.
He served in the Army Reserve.
He was employed as a draftsman at GE, Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin for 42 years, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of the Elks Club in Pittsfield, Berkshire Hills Country Club and the GE Athletic Association.
He golfed and competed in many tournaments, and at one time had a 5 handicap. He enjoyed woodworking and reading.
He leaves his wife, the former Corrine Bousquet, whom he married Oct. 21, 1961; a son, Gary V. Burtt Jr. of Pittsfield; two sisters, Sharon Mandell of Naples, Fla., and Beverly Smith of Walterboro, S.C., and a grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- There will be no funeral service for Mr. Burtt. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 5 to 7 at the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Following cremation, burial will be in the Pittsfield Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Among survivors is his grandson, Gary V. Burtt III. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to either the Elks Club or to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
