Adelaide Anna Ray, 70, of 32 Dalton Ave. died Wednesday evening at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 22, 1932, daughter of John J. Ray Sr. and Lena E. Favre Ray, she was a 1950 graduate of St. Joseph's Central High School.
Miss Ray was employed as an admitting clerk, first at the former St. Luke's Hospital and continuing when St. Luke's merged with the former Pittsfield General Hospital to become Berkshire Medical Center. She retired in 1994 with 44 years of service.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and enjoyed crafts.
She leaves a brother, John J. Ray Jr. of Pittsfield, and a sister, Rita F. Mongue of Dalton.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Miss Adelaide Anna Ray, who died Wednesday, March 12, will be held Saturday, March 15, at 8:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Mary the Morning Star Church celebrated by the Rev. Paul A. Bombardier, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held today, Friday, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Miss Ray may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. Miss Ray also leaves many nieces and nephews.
