Maria C. Talora, 92, of 41 Plunkett St. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in FrancaVilla Angitola, province of Catanzaro, Italy, on Nov. 16, 1910, daughter of Rosario and Cristina Furlano Carchedi, she attended schools there.
She immigrated to the United States in 1958. She was employed by the former Woodlawn Laundry and Berkshire Cleaners, retiring in 1962.
Mrs. Talora was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and sewing.
Her husband, Vincenzo A. Talora, whom she married Dec. 18, 1932, died Jan. 31, 2001.
She leaves two sons, Giuseppe Talora of Peru and Frank Talora of Cheshire; two daughters, Evanna Kennedy of East Nassau, N.Y., and Barbara Morini of Rome, Italy; a sister, Marianna Buffoni of Filadelfia, Italy; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two other daughters, Vincenza F. Talora and Eleanor Ventrici.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Maria C. Talora, 92, died Thursday, March 13, 2003. Beloved mother of Giuseppe Talora, Frank Talora, Evanna Kennedy and Barbara Morini. Lovingly survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Marianna Buffoni. Predeceased by two daughters, Vincenza F. Talora and Eleanor Ventrici.
Funeral services will take place Saturday, March 15, at 8 from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, C.S.S., pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Friday, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home.
