Stephen Michael Truchan, 41, of 339 West Ave., Ludlow, died Saturday at home of a brain tumor.
His family was at his side. He was a former resident of Pittsfield and a volunteer member of the Cheshire Fire Department.
Born in Springfield on Oct. 17, 1961, son of Stephen E. and Patricia A. Pollack Truchan, he was a graduate of Ludlow High School and attended Salem State College and American International College.
Mr. Truchan was a service representative at Lia Toyota. Before that, he worked as a customer service representative for Verizon for 12 years. He was also an auxiliary police officer for the town of Ludlow and spent many years working at the family-operated Steve's Service Station in Ludlow.
He was a communicant of Christ the King Church, where he was an altar server, lector and collector.
While in Pittsfield, he was an active member of the PTO at Egremont School.
A self-taught harmonica player, he played with many blues groups over the years and was a volunteer for the New England Blues Association, setting up gigs for players.
Besides his parents, of Ludlow, he leaves two sons, Nicholas Stephen Truchan and Cameron Michael Truchan, both of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Stephen Michael Truchan will be tomorrow at 9:30 from KAPINOS-MAZUR FUNERAL HOME, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Christ the King Church, 41 Warsaw Ave., at 10. Friends may call tomorrow morning from 8:30 until the service begins. Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Bondsville.
