George J. Kastrinakis

George J. Kastrinakis, 94, of the Masonic Home, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton, formerly of Springfield, died Friday at the home.
He was the father of John G. Kastrinakis of Lenox.
Born in Chania, Greece, on Aug. 17, 1908, son of John G. and Hariclia Malefakis Kastrinakis, he emigrated to the United States in 1918 and lived in Springfield for many years. He moved to Charlton eight years ago.
Mr. Kastrinakis was employed as a bookbinder for Merriam-Webster Inc. in Springfield. He also had worked for many years as a cook and waiter for several restaurants in the Springfield area.
He was a member of St. George's Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Springfield; the Mount Orthodox Masonic Lodge in West Springfield, the York Rite-Scottish Rites Melha Shrine, and the Minos-Crete chapter of the Pancretan Association of America.
Besides his son, he leaves a daughter, Hariclia "Happy" Theocles of Little Rock, S.C., six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service will be held today at 10 in St. George's Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Plainfield Street, Springfield. There will be no calling hours.
