PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Alfred D. Scipione, 95, of Westwood, died March 6, 2003, at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton. He was the father of Phyllis DeMartino of Pittsfield.
Born in Boston on Dec. 17, 1907, son of Nicola and Anna Lavalla Scipione, he was educated there.
He was employed by Baird Corp. of Bedford. He was a member of the Needham Knights of Columbus.
His wife, the former Grace V. Robinson, is deceased.
Besides his daughter, of Pittsfield, he leaves another daughter, Marilyn A. Sciarratta of Needham; a sister, Josephine Pasquale of Andover; five grandchildren, Anthony DeMartino and Andrea Wiepert of Pittsfield, Ann Marie DeMartino of Amherst, Maryanne Dever of Needham and Susan Sciarratta of Newtown, Pa., and five great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Alfred D. Scipione will be Monday at 9 from the GEORGE F. DOHERTY & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1305 Highland Ave., Needham (exit 19B off 128) and a Funeral Mass will be at 10 at St. Joseph's Church. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham.
