Rose Sidman, 96, of Kimball Farms, 40 Sunset St., formerly of Hallandale, Fla., died yesterday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Trenton, N.J., on June 15, 1906, daughter of Aaron and Fannie Forer, she was a graduate of Trenton High School.
Primarily a homemaker, she was employed as a bookkeeper in New York City. She moved to Lenox in 1996.
While in Lenox, Mrs. Sidman was a member of Knesset Israel Synagogue. She was a life member of Hadassah and an active participant in the senior lunches at the Pittsfield Jewish Federation. She enjoyed knitting.
Her husband, Abraham Sidman, whom she married June 11, 1933, died Oct. 24, 1993.
She leaves a daughter, Iris Cohen of Pittsfield; a son, Alan Sidman of Brooklyn; a brother, Murray Forer of Great Neck, N.Y.; a sister, Ida Levine of Great Neck, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Rose Forer Sidman, age 96, died March 5, 2003. She was predeceased by her sister, Sally Fischer, and her husband, Abraham Sidman. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 at Knesset Israel Synagogue, 16 Colt Road, Pittsfield, with Rabbi Lynn Liberman, spiritual leader, officiating.
Burial will follow in Knesset Israel Cemetery on Peck's Road. Memorial donations may be made to Knesset Israel Synagogue in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 until 9.
