Frances Marie Scherben

Frances Marie Scherben, 65, of 10 Cardinal St. died yesterday morning at her home.

Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 20, 1937, daughter of John and Lillian MulQueen Pinna, she was a 1955 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Scherben worked as a paraprofessional in the Pittsfield Public Schools for seven years.

She was a communicant of St. Charles' Church and a member of the Pittsfield Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting and sewing and going to Foxwoods.

Her husband, Joseph W. "Tede" Scherben Jr., whom she married June 23, 1956, died April 14, 1998.

She leaves two sons, Joseph W. Scherben of Montrose, Colo., and Thomas J. Scherben of Pittsfield; three daughters, Debra M. McMahon of Pittsfield, Donna M. Bordeau of Pittsfield and Sandra White of Montrose, Colo.; a brother, John Pinna of Dalton; a sister, Mary Gloria of Pittsfield, and eight grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Frances Marie Scherben, who died Friday, Feb. 28, will be held Monday, March 3, at 8:15 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Charles Church celebrated by the Rev. Daniel B. Brunton. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 8.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Scherben may be made to the Shriners Hospital or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, both in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
