Thelma Margaret "Dolly" Mineau

Thelma Margaret "Dolly" Mineau, 57, of 134 Park Ave., died Friday evening at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, following a brief illness.

Born in Pittsfield Oct. 21, 1945, daughter of Chester M. Hover Sr. and Thelma Teal Hover, she graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1962. She later graduated from the nursing program at Hudson Valley (N.Y.) Community College as a licensed practical nurse.

Mrs. Mineau was employed with the Berkshire County House of Correction as a nurse, treating infectious diseases, until January. She also had been employed as a nurse for a short time at the former Dalton Nursing Home. She was employed for 23 years by GE in the power transformer department until it closed.

She enjoyed playing golf, boating and cooking.

She leaves her husband, Ronald Mineau, whom she married July 20, 1985 in New Lebanon, N.Y.; four daughters, Lisa L. Houghtlin and Sharon M. Shepard, both of Pittsfield, Debra J. Arpante of Hinsdale and Diana L. Gian of New Ashford; a stepson, Eric Mineau of Becket; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Render of West Stockbridge and MaryEllen Bolte of Readsboro, Vt.; two brothers, Chester Hover Jr. of Pittsfield and William Hover of Stephentown, N.Y.; three sisters, Bonnie Jean Hover of Dalton, Barbara Lutz of North Hollywood, Calif., and Honey Smith of Pittsfield, five grandchildren and seven stepgrandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Thelma Margaret "Dolly" Mineau, 57, died on Feb. 14, 2003. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Kacey E. Harrington, Jiana O. Arpante, Ashley M. Houghtlin, Eugene W. Shepard III, and Dylan A. Crea, and her stepgrandchildren, Dakota, Tayden, Skylar, Jonathan, Courtney, Marissa and Malari. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward J. and Donald D. "Hulk" Hover; and two sisters, Patricia Killian and Darlene Anderson. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:45 from the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:30 at St. Charles' Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel B. Brunton, chaplain of Providence Care of Lenox. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund or Shannon House in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
