Peter P. Ricchi, 93, of 1408 Lakewood Drive, McKinney, Texas, died Thursday at Homestead of McKinney assisted living center, where he had resided since October 2002. He was a former resident of Pittsfield, Lenox and Great Barrington.
Born in East Canaan, Conn., Aug. 11, 1909, son of Massimino and Mary L. Zariani Ricchi, he lived in Great Barrington and Lenox for several years and attended schools in Lenox.
Mr. Ricchi came to Pittsfield in 1928 and moved to Texas in 1999. He was employed by the Forest Manufacturing Co. and Brandt Lumber Co., both of Lee, for several years, and later by the Clark-Aiken Co. of Lee for 11 years. He retired from Clark-Aiken in 1977.
While in Pittsfield, he was a member of the Pittsfield Senior Citizens and Italian American Club, and a former member of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
He leaves his wife, the former Mary I. Guachione, whom he married on Sept. 26, 1931, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel; one son, Ronald R. Ricchi of Huntsville, Ala.; one sister, Ann Gull of Pittsfield; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Peter P. Ricchi, 93, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003. Cherished grandfather of Raymond R. Ricchi of McKinney, Texas, with whom he resided before entering the nursing home, and Ronald R. Ricchi Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo. Lovingly survived by six great-grandchildren, Cassandra Ricchi, Francesca Ricchi, Lindsey Ricchi, all of Colorado Springs, Michael Peter Ricchi, Heather Ann Ricchi, Kyle Ray Ricchi, all of McKinney.
Funeral services will take place Monday, Feb. 17, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, C.S.S., pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery, Great Barrington. Calling hours at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., will be Monday, Feb. 17, from 9:30 to 10:30. He was predeceased by four brothers, George Ricchi, Celestino Ricchi, Aldo Ricchi and Armando Ricchi; and one sister, Clementine Cimini.
