Florence M. Lemanski

Florence M. Lemanski, 82, of 19 Foote Ave. died Tuesday evening at Berkshire Medical Center, where she had been admitted Jan. 23.

Born in Pittsfield on May 7, 1920, daughter of William L. and Ellen Frank McIntyre, she attended local schools and was a 1938 honors graduate of St. Joseph's High School. She graduated from the former Berkshire Business College.

Mrs. Lemanski became employed by Pittsfield in the Welfare Department in 1958. She was promoted to senior accountant in 1968 and retired in 1981. Prior to that, she was a bookkeeper for five years with the former England Brothers department store.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of its Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Las Vegas.

Her husband, Walter W. Lemanski, whom she married Oct. 5, 1940, died Aug. 25, 1999.

She leaves a son, Wayne W. Lemanski of Lenox; a daughter, Donna E. Ellery of Pittsfield; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Florence M. Lemanski, age 82, died Feb. 11, 2003. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Andrew L. and Abigail C. Lemanski, and John M. Ellery Jr., Debra Rabideau and Jennifer Ness; her great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Candace Ellery, Emily and Eric Nash, and Sara, Daniel and Rebecca Rabideau; her son-in-law, J. Michael Ellery; her daughter-in-law, Colette M. Lemanski; her two sisters-in-law, Sophie Brown and Stacia DeFazio. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME.

The funeral will be Saturday at 8:15 from the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 at Sacred Heart Church by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to Sacred Heart Church in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
