Edna L. Denison

Edna L. Denison, 81, formerly of Pittsfield, died yesterday at Governors Center nursing home in Westfield.
Born in Dalton on July 18, 1921, daughter of John H. and Caroline Halliday Loomis, she was a 1938 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She moved to Newfane, Vt., in 1974, to South Yarmouth in 1980 and to Westfield three years ago.
Mrs. Denison was employed by GE in the distribution department as a stenographer and later worked for Murphy and Reilly Tax Accountants.
While in Pittsfield, she was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and, while employed by GE, of the GE Women's and Rifle clubs and Athletic Association.
Her husband, George R. Denison, whom she married July 28, 1942, died Oct. 11, 2000.
She leaves two daughters, Bonnie L. Nicholas of Adams and Candace H. Cadenelli of Pittsfield; two sons, George L. "Buddy" Denison of Westfield and Timothy R. Denison of Hillsboro, N.H.; a brother, Richard Loomis of Pittsfield, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mrs. Edna L. Denison will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Pittsfield Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. She was predeceased by a brother, Elbert Loomis of Pittsfield, and three sisters, Lois Hewett of Texas, Ruth Brown of Ohio and Grace Bronough of California.
