Antonio M. Corrente

Antonio M. Corrente, 83, of 1209 North Westcott Road, Rotterdam, N.Y., formerly of 104 Lebanon Ave., died Sunday evening at home.

Born in Providence, R.I., on July 8, 1919, son of Carmine and Angelica Torrusio Corrente, he graduated from schools in Rhode Island.

He served in Merchant Marine, under Coast Guard administration, during World War II from 1941 to 1945. Mr. Corrente was employed as a welder at GE for 36 years, retiring in 1982.

He was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and a member of the GE Pensioners' and Quarter Century clubs. He enjoyed traveling, especially to his home in West Palm Beach, Fla.

His wife, the former Gladys Alexander, whom he married Sept. 4, 1958, died May 24, 1998.

He leaves three daughters, JoAnn Yansak of Rotterdam, with whom he resided, Angela Ali of Coral Springs, Fla., and Linda Zuckrow of Ellenville, N.Y.; a son, Dennis Corrente of West Palm Beach; two stepsons, Almon "David" Burke and Robert "John" Burke, both of Pittsfield; three stepdaughters, Gladys "Penny" Kukevitch and Kathi Murphy, both of Pittsfield, and Dora St. John of Albany, N.Y.; a brother, John Corrente of Providence; a sister, Anna Webster of Cranston, R.I.; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Antonio M. Corrente, age 83, died Feb. 9, 2003. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:15 at the funeral home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 at St. Mark's Church by the Rev. Henry Doersch, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Church or to Immaculate Conception in Schenectady, N.Y., in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
