Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Albert A. Grucelski of Sparks, Md.; two daughters, Joanne G. Bradford of Pittsfield and Elizabeth M. Grucelski of Brewster; two brothers, Stanley A. Grucelski of Pittsfield and John W. Morowski of Napa, Calif.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Joseph Casmir Grucelski, who died Thursday, Jan. 30, was predeceased by a brother, Dr. Benjamin Murawski, and a sister, Jennie Bernardo. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Stories abound of Joe, as a Roaring '20s street urchin learning the survival skills that would help carry his family through the Great Depression.
As an outdoorsman, Joe explored the hidden reaches of the Berkshires and the Adirondacks. He shared his love of nature and his discoveries with family and friends. As a weaver, and then as a welder, he was a workers' activist who fought for workers' rights during the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. Funeral services for Mr. Grucelski will be private and at the convenience of the family. Contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of one's choice. The DERY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
