Mark B. Reder

Mark B. Reder, 45, of Chatham, N.J., formerly of Pittsfield, died yesterday at home.

Born in Pittsfield, son of Marjorie Rothkopf Reder and the late Edwin E. Reder, he was a 1975 graduate of Pittsfield High School, where he was a member of the student council and the track and ski teams. He also led a youth group at Temple Anshe Amunim. He received a bachelor's degree from Duke University in 1979 and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Virginia's Darden Business School. He lived in Summit, N.J., from 1989 to 1996 and moved to Chatham six years ago.

Mr. Reder worked for IBM from 1984 to 1988 before co-founding Amar Business Systems in Whippany, N.J. The company was purchased in 1996 by Danka Inc. of Pine Brook, N.J., where he was vice president of sales and marketing at the time of his death.

He enjoyed playing golf, pencil drawing, watercolor painting and playing the guitar.

Besides his mother, of Pittsfield, he leaves his wife, Dr. Lorie J. Willbanks Reder; two sons, Frank Reder and Jack Reder, both at home; a daughter, Ali Reder, at home, and two brothers, Robert Reder of Long Beach, N.Y., and Richard Reder of Belmont.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mark B. Reder will be celebrated Wednesday, Jan. 22, at noon at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Washington Avenue, in Chatham, N.J.

Burial will follow in Fair Mount Cemetery, Chatham. Visiting hours at WM. A. BRADLEY & SON FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main St. (Rt. 124), Chatham, N.J., will be tomorrow, Jan. 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. He was also survived by two nieces and a nephew.
