Ronald F. "Skip" Hammond Jr., 44, of 30 Beacon St., died suddenly Friday morning at home.
Born on July 2, 1958, in Pittsfield, the son of Ronald F. and Marlene W. Ketcham Hammond Sr., he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a graduate of Taconic High School.
He worked in the assisted-living field since he was 20 and had been working as a caregiver with Berkshire County ARC for the last three years. He enjoyed camping, hiking and playing the guitar.
He leaves his parents, with whom he lived, and his son, Lucas John Hammond of Dalton.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Ronald F. "Skip" Hammond Jr., age 44, died Jan. 10, 2003. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Rennie, pastor of First Baptist Church in Pittsfield, officiating.
Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Greyhound Friends West Inc. or to the Eleanor Soncini Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
