Ralph Lawrence Walsh, 91, of 182 Maple Grove Drive, died Friday morning at Hillcrest Commons.
Born in New York City on April 5, 1911, he attended Pittsfield public schools. He moved to Pittsfield as a child with his family.
He was a machinist at General Electric for 23 years, retiring in 1979. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the General Electric Quarter Century and Pensioners Club.
His wife, the former Margaret C. Armstrong, died Dec. 4, 1995. He leaves a son, Michael W. Walsh of Pittsfield; a daughter, Peggy A. Walsh, with whom he made his home; and a grandson, Matthew A. Wright of Greenville, S.C.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Ralph Lawrence Walsh, who died Friday, Jan. 10, will be held on Thursday, Jan. 16, at 1:30 at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Those attending are invited to meet inside the cemetery gate at 1:15.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Walsh may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
