Dorothy Alice Gary, 69, of 63 Bossidy Drive died early Saturday morning at home after a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on March 29, 1933, daughter of William and Anna Lee LeBarnes, she attended local schools. Primarily a homemaker, she had worked as an assembler at Cavallaro Plastics and at Greylock Plastics.
Her husband, William E. Gary Sr., whom she married April 18, 1959, died June 24, 1980.
She leaves three sons, George D. Gary Sr. of Upper Darby, Pa., William E. Gary Jr. and David C. Gary, both of Pittsfield; three daughters, Robin A. Ditello, Terry L. Wells and Kellie M. Gary, all of Pittsfield; a brother, George LeBarnes of Pittsfield; two sisters, Marilyn Cole of the state of Georgia and Anna Chapman of Pittsfield; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Gail C. Gary died June 4, 1981.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Dorothy A. Gary, 69, who died Jan. 4, 2003, will be conducted tomorrow, Jan. 7, at 10 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. by the Rev. William D. Furey. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 4 to 6 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare of the Berkshires in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Gary is also survived by her six adored grandchildren, George D. Gary Jr., Kimberly Douglas, Joseph Gary, Christina M. Ditello, Louis T. Ditello and Nicholas Wells; and by her three cherished great-grandsons, Michael Douglas Jr., Justin Douglas and James T. Luckey.
