Rena Rohrkemper

Rena Rohrkemper, 84, of Saginaw, Mich., formerly of Pittsfield, died yesterday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Saginaw.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 7, 1918, daughter of Didimo and Rose Vanotti Dondi, she graduated in 1936 from Pittsfield High School and in 1939 from the former St. Luke's School of Nursing. She moved to Michigan many years ago.
Mrs. Rohrkemper served as an ensign in the Navy Nurse Corps during World War II.
Her husband, Paul E. Rohrkemper, whom she married Dec. 4, 1943, died Feb. 10, 1998.
She leaves a daughter, Pamela Dork of Saginaw; three sons, Paul H. Rohrkemper of Trappe, Md., John C. Rohrkemper of Lancaster, Pa., and Mark R. Rohrkemper of Defiance, Ohio; two sisters, Irma Harrington of Pittsfield and Dolores Dondi of Lenox; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mrs. Rohrkemper was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Dondi. She also leaves a son-in-law, Stephen Dork of Saginaw; a daughter-in-law, Susan Rohrkemper of Trappe, Md., and a brother-in-law, Frank Harrington of Pittsfield.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Saginaw, Mich. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Arrangements are by DEISLER FUNERAL HOME, 2233 Hemmeter Road, Saginaw, Mich., 989-799-1151.
