Harold Victor "Otis" Woodill, 87, formerly of Bradford Arms, died yesterday at Hillcrest Commons, where he had resided for the past 10 months.
Born in Webster on Aug. 19, 1915, son of Raymond H. and Louise Pluff Woodill, he attended schools in Worcester. He lived most of his life in Pittsfield.
A World War II veteran, Mr. Woodill served in the Army from 1941 to 1945. He received the Bronze Star, the American Defense Service Medal and other medals.
Mr. Woodill was employed by GE in its maintenance department for 27 years, retiring in 1962.
He was a member of VFW Post 448 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 15, both in Pittsfield. A Red Sox fan, he enjoyed listening to their games on the radio.
His wife, the former Marion Crandall, is deceased. He leaves several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Harold Victor "Otis" Woodill, who died Wednesday, Dec. 18, was predeceased by his seven brothers and two sisters. He leaves several nieces and nephews, and his longtime friend and caregiver, Maureen Nettles. Funeral services for Mr. Woodill will be private and held at a later date.
There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, contributions in memory of Mr. Woodill may be made to the Berkshire Benevolent Association for the Blind in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
