Christina M. Chichetto

Christina M. Chichetto, 91, of Saratoga Drive died Saturday evening at Brockton Hospital.

Born in Dorchester on July 3, 1911, daughter of Angus C. and Mary Scott-O'Brien McInnis, she was a 1929 graduate of Dorchester High School. She also attended Emmanuel College and studied voice at New England Conservatory of Music. She moved to Pittsfield in 1948.

Mrs. Chichetto was a legal secretary in the Boston area for several years prior to her marriage. She also sang the lead in many musicals throughout Boston and its environs.

In 1959, she moved to Lenox, where she worked as a real estate broker and owned and operated Christina's Antique Shop for 27 years. In 1986, she returned to Pittsfield to live.

She was a communicant of St. Teresa's Church and a soloist for 10 years in its choir. During this time, she also was president of the Emblem Club and district deputy of Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

She was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Lenox from 1959 to 1986 and a soloist in its choir for 12 years.

Her husband, Francis A. Chichetto Sr., whom she married Sept. 4, 1938, died Oct. 30, 1997.

She leaves two sons, Francis A. Chichetto Jr. of Winter Haven, Fla., and the Rev. James W. Chichetto of the Order of Holy Cross, Stonehill College, North Easton; a daughter, Christine Sennett of Guilford, Conn.; five grandsons, and a granddaughter.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Christina M. Chichetto, 91, will be Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 10:15 from ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Ann's Church with her son, the Rev. James W. Chichetto, CSC, as main celebrant. Other priests celebrating the liturgy will include the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, pastor of St. Ann's, and several of Father Chichetto's brother priests from Stonehill College.

Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make donations in her memory to the Holy Cross Fathers in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.
