Enis J. DeVergilio, 79, of 55 Pine Grove Drive died Saturday at the home of her son, Dennis DeVergilio of 58 Baldwin Ave.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 10, 1923, daughter of Attilio and Elisa Doriguzzi Menia, she graduated in 1941 from Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. DeVergilio was employed as a senior clerk in the city clerk's office at City Hall from 1967 to 1989. From 1990 until retiring in 2000, she worked for Berkshire Physicians & Surgeons in the medical records department. She also previously worked at the former Textile Store.
She was a communicant of All Souls' Church and a former member of the Women's Club of Pittsfield. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting and reading.
Her husband, Guido S. DeVergilio, whom she married Jan. 17, 1945, in Mount Carmel Church, died July 6, 2001.
Besides her son, she leaves another son, Steven G. DeVergilio of Dalton; a brother, Evio Menia of Pittsfield, and four grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Enis J. Menia DeVergilio, 79, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002. Beloved mother of Dennis and his wife, Maureen; Steven and his wife, Maureen; loving grandmother of Robert, Lisa, Jeffrey and Brett DeVergilio; dear sister of Enis Menia.
The funeral will be tomorrow, Nov. 19, at 9 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at All Souls' Church, 51 Pembroke Ave., celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be today, Monday, from 3 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or All Souls' Church, both in care of the funeral home.
