Bernadette M. LaFrance

Bernadette M. LaFrance, 70, of 84 Clydesdale Drive died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Fall River on Jan. 3, 1932, the 14th child of Joseph O. and Marie L. Cherette LaFleur, she graduated from high school there. She lived in New York and New Jersey before settling in Pittsfield 25 years ago.
Mrs. LaFrance was a communicant of St. Teresa's Church and active in its activities. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and helping those in need.
Her husband, Kirt J. LaFrance, whom she married Sept. 13, 1958, at St. Jean the Baptist Church in Fall River, died March 21, 1987.
She leaves three sons, James J. LaFrance of Richmond and Eric M. LaFrance and Kirt G. LaFrance, both of Pittsfield; four sisters, Loretta Levesque of Delaware, Rita Lizotte of North Carolina, and Blanche Sevigny and Anette Berney, both of Fall River, and six grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Bernadette LaFleur LaFrance will be tonight at 7 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., with the Rev. John Varley, pastor of St. Teresa's Church, officiating.
Calling hours will be today from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Calling hours also will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 at Boule Funeral Home, 615 Broadway Ave., Fall River. On Wednesday, a Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 at Holy Trinity Church in Fall River.
Burial will follow in the Notre Dame Mausoleum in Fall River. Mrs. LaFrance was a devoted wife and mother. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation, Massachusetts chapter, 25 Crafts St., Suite 450, Newton, MA 01258-1287.
