Judith Mary Esoldi, 93, of 19 Underhill Place died yesterday at home.
Born in Canaan, Conn., on May 16, 1909, daughter of Simon and Madeline Tavelli Demastrie, she moved to Adams as a child and attended schools there.
Mrs. Esoldi was last employed with Editions Limited for five years, retiring in 1976. Previously, she had worked as a waitress at the former Hub Restaurant in North Adams and later at the former Rosa and Busy Bee restaurants. She also had been a cook at Williams Elementary School.
Mrs. Esoldi was a communicant of St. Teresa's Church. She was well-known for her quilts and was a member of the South Congregational Church Ladies' Quilting Club. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing and crafts.
She and her husband, Dominic J. Esoldi, celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary Sept. 4. They were married in St. Anthony's Church in North Adams.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Carol A. Nichols of Marlboro, and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Judith Mary Demastrie Esoldi, 93, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002. Beloved wife of Dominic J. Esoldi. Devoted mother of Carol A. Nichols. Loving grandmother of Karen Nichols and Justin Nichols.
The funeral will be tomorrow, Oct. 26, at 9 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 in St. Teresa's Church by the Rev. John J. Varley, pastor.
Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lee. Calling hours will be today, Oct. 25, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. She was predeceased by four brothers, Marco, Samuel, Lawrence and Edward Demastrie, and four sisters, Josephine Harris, Ida Bormorlini, Rose Carnazzola and Lana Demastrie.
