Virginia A. Sanginetti, 74, of 325 Fenn St. died Saturday at home. She was co-owner and dispatcher for Fenn Street Towing Service until 1992.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 25, 1928, daughter of James and Mary Micalizzi Russo, she was a 1944 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Sanginetti was employed by the family-owned Russo's Variety Store on Fenn Street for several years, and later was a dispatcher for the towing business for 20 years.
She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and a member of the Sons of Italy Itam Lodge 564 and the Ralph J. Froio Senior Center. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Her husband, Vincent F. "GiGi" Sanginetti, whom she married April 18, 1949, died April 13. She leaves two sons, James V. Sanginetti of Lenox and John A. Sanginetti of Pittsfield; five daughters, Joanne F. DiGirolamo, Judy A. Houle, Jeanne M. Sanginetti and Julie M. Wood, all of Pittsfield, and Tina V. Sanginetti of Altamont, N.Y.; a brother, Guy Russo of New York City; eight grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

DiGirolamo and her husband, Robert; Judy A. Houle, Jeanne M. Sanginetti, Julie M. Wood and her husband, David, and Tina V. Sanginetti. Cherished grandmother of Robert, Erica and Jessica DiGirolamo; Gianna DiGirolamo Culbertson and her husband, Clinton; Jeffrey, Melissa and Michael Houle, and Ryan Ellis Wood. Great-grandmother of Matthew Vincent Culbertson. Dear sister of Guy Russo. Virginia's main interest in life was her family, relatives and close friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandson brought her many hours of happiness.
The funeral will be tomorrow, Oct. 22, at 10 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church celebrated by the Rev. John H. Ford, CSS. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be today, Oct. 21, from 4 to 8. Sons of Italy Itam Lodge 564 of Pittsfield will meet at the funeral home at 6 to conduct a ritual service. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Bruguglio.
