Joseph W. "Luther" Kubica

Joseph W. "Luther" Kubica, 50, of Voorheesville, N.Y., a native of Pittsfield, died Saturday at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's in Albany.
Born on Jan. 23, 1952, son of Harriett Kubica and the late Joseph A. Kubica, he attended local schools. He moved to Albany in 1982. He was employed by Long Lumber in New Scotland for 16 years.
He was a member and deacon at the Madison Avenue Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Polish Falcon Club in Pittsfield and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He enjoyed singing, listening to country music, and hunting and fishing, especially turkey hunting, and bass fishing. He was a fan of the Florida Gators.
Besides his mother, of Pittsfield, he leaves his wife of 17 years, the former Jeanne LaQuire; five sisters, Joanne Wheeler, Marilyn Kipp, Jean Kubica and Rose Kubica, all of Pittsfield, and Ruth Tierney of Clinton, S.C., and a brother, Paul Kubica of Northwood, Ohio.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday morning at the REILLY & SON FUNERAL HOME, 9 Voorheesville Ave., Voorheesville. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland.
