John F. Bacon

John Francis Bacon, 77, of 75 Wendell Ave. died yesterday morning at home.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 11, 1924, son of Francis Bacon Sr. and Julia Nelligan Bacon, he was a 1943 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He attended Seton Hall College in South Orange, N.J., for three years.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he served with a aircraft carrier unit stationed in the Philippines.
He was employed by GE as a laboratory technician in the power transformer department for 32 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs and the Senior Center. He enjoyed traveling.
He leaves two sisters, Mary B. Kelly and Grace Bacon, both of Pittsfield. He was predeceased by two brothers, Francis Bacon Jr. and James L. Bacon
Private graveside services will be held at a later date. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pittsfield Boys' and Girls' Club in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
