Phalice E. O'Brien Jr., 75, formerly of 99 Second St., died Monday at Hillcrest Commons Nursing Care Facility, where she had resided for four years. She had previously resided at the former Edgecomb Nursing Home in Lenox for 11 years.
Born in North Adams on Jan. 26, 1927, daughter of John and Phalice Sires O'Brien, she was a 1946 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. O'Brien was employed as a saleswoman at the former M. Solomon's Clothing Store for many years and also at the former England Brothers Department Store.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, where she was a member of the choir and St. Joseph's Rosary Sodality.
She leaves a brother, Allyn O'Brien of Toms River, N.J., and three sisters, Nancy Tucker of Pittsfield, Jacqueline Wright of Barrington, R.I., and Eunice Hall of Clifton Park, N.Y.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 26, at 9:30 a.m. from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be at DWYER FUNERAL HOME Friday morning from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. If friends desire, donations may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of Dwyer Funeral Home in her memory.
