Ruth H. Tolvo

Ruth H. Tolvo, 78, of Leesburg, Fla., formerly of Lenox and South Egremont, died July 15 at Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Florida.

Born in Holden on Nov. 2, 1923, daughter of Ludovic and Ethel Ruth Hanff, she was educated in schools in Rhode Island. She moved to Florida in 1977.

In 1955, Mrs. Tolvo moved to Lenox, where she taught dance to children and high school youths. In 1967, she moved to South Egremont, where she owned and operated Mylor Kennels. She was also co-owner of Robert Tolvo Hair Design.

While in Florida, Mrs. Tolvo was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Church in Eustis. She was a member and past president of the Leesburg Board of Realtors, past vice president of the Florida Association of Realtors District 7 and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She and her husband, Robert R. Tolvo Sr., were married in 1952.

Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Robert R. Tolvo Jr. of Tavares, Fla., and Anthony Tolvo of Deland, Fla.; three daughters, Shellie Davis of Tavares, Nicole Szymanski of Melbourne, Fla., and Marti Young of Lady Lake, Fla.; a sister, Frances Cotter of Las Cruces, N.M., and 11 grandchildren.

The funeral was held in Florida. Burial will be today, Tuesday, at 10 at St. Mary's Cemetery, Lee. Friends wishing may make donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, c/o KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
