Ronda M. North, 63, of Rome, Ga., died Sunday afternoon at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided for five weeks.
Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 6, 1938, daughter of Louis G. Thomas Sr. and Mary Bashara Thomas, she was a 1956 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She moved to Georgia 13 years ago.
Mrs. North was employed by Danesh Krupa Corp. in Rome as a clerk. While in Pittsfield, she was manager at the former Edgewood Restaurant and Lounge in Lenox from 1971 to 1985. Previously, she had worked as a secretary at GE.
She enjoyed traveling, swimming, fishing and cooking.
Her husband, Robert C. North, died May 16, 1990.
She leaves a son, Barry P. Martin of Portland, Maine; a daughter, Holly J. Freadman of Richmond; two brothers, Louis G. Thomas Jr. of Richmond and Donald J. Thomas of Pittsfield; a sister, Joan L. Thomas of Pittsfield, and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday, July 25, at 9:15 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Teresa's Church celebrated by the Rev. John J. Varley, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation or to the American Heart Association, both in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
