M. Louise Moser

M. Louise Moser, 98, formerly of 52 Edward Ave., died Wednesday at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown.
Born in Appenzell, Switzerland, on July 6, 1904, daughter of Pius and Lydia Halter Geisser, she attended schools in Lausanne, Switzerland, and moved to the United States in 1927.
She and her husband, Oscar F. Moser, moved to the Berkshires and opened Moser's Beauty Salon on Edward Avenue. Mrs. Moser continued to operate the salon until 1994.
She was a communicant of Sacret Heart Church and was active in the community, including visiting shut-ins and doing their hair.
Her husband, whom she married March 17, 1929, died in 1983.
She leaves a son, Rene O. Moser of Hinsdale and Panama City, Fla.; two sisters, Mary Lou Grover of Winter Springs, Fla., and Christina Moser Bolton of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Rose Zund of Switzerland; eight grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church by the Rev. James Joyce, pastor. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Among survivors are many nieces and nephews in Switzerland. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the American Heart Association or the Christian mission charity in Kenya, both in care of the funeral home.
