Gregg P. Bronk

Gregg P. Bronk, 61, of Toledo, Ohio, a former Pittsfield resident, died Sunday in Toledo. He was a former resident of Pittsfield, moving to Toledo in 1992.
Born in Pittsburgh on July 28, 1940, son of Clifford and Emelie Merkel Bronk, he was educated there. He earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from St. Lawrence (N.Y.) University and a master's degree in journalism from Syracuse University. Earlier this year, he became a member of the Arthur W. Page Society of public relations executives. He was a first lieutenant in the Army.
In Pittsfield from 1971 to 1992, Mr. Bronk held various communications, marketing and sales positions with GE Plastics. He was named vice president of corporate communications and brand strategy in 1998. Previously, he had been employed as a general manager of marketing and development for Petricca Industries Inc. He was also a member of the press relations staff at Reynolds Metals Co.
He was active in the sports programs at St. Joseph's High School and the Boys' and Girls' Club, both in Pittsfield. He coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball and hockey at the Boys' and Girls' Club. He was a member of The Country Club of Pittsfield and the Fagioli Club.
Mr. Bronk was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Sylvania, Ohio. He was a member of the board of trustees for the Jamie Farr Kroger Classic LPGA tournament, the Society for Plastics Industry and active with the United Way and the Toledo Mud Hens' new baseball stadium.
He leaves his wife, the former Judi Lisco; a daughter, Paige Bronk of Syracuse, and a son, Brian Bronk of San Francisco.
