Claude R. Seguin

Claude R. "Sonny" Seguin, 59, of 150 South St. died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on June 14, 1943, son of Adrienne Dubois Seguin of Dalton and the late Clothaire Seguin, he was a 1959 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mr. Seguin continued his education at Berkshire Community College from 1961 to 1963 and was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport (Conn.) in 1967. He also did graduate work at the New School for Social Research in New York City.
In 1969, Mr. Seguin purchased a small tie-dyed T-shirt business in Brooklyn, N.Y., and turned it into the high-fashion women's wear company, Waverly Mills. His fashion designs were frequently on the covers of such notable magazines as Cosmopolitan and Seventeen. In 1987, he retired to his horse farm in Cherry Plains, N.Y., before returning to Pittsfield several years ago.
Private services for Mr. Seguin will be held at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery. DERY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
