Millie Priest

Millie Priest, 89, formerly of Birch Grove Drive died July 3 in Annapolis, Md., following a short illness.
Born in Feura Bush, N.Y., on Feb. 23, 1913, daughter of Arthur O. and Bertha Mary VanAlstyne Blessing, she attended schools in Albany, N.Y. She had resided in Greenbelt, Md., for the past five years.
Mrs. Priest had been employed as a winder in the power transformer department at General Electric in Pittsfield.
She was a member of the Dalton United Methodist Church, and was an award-winning poet.
Her husband, Earl L. Priest, whom she married in December 1941, died July 16, 1975.
She leaves a daughter, Lynne Priest Fitzpatrick of Bowie, Md., and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Wayne T. Pearce, who died in June 1999.
Graveside services for Mrs. Priest will be held Saturday, July 13, at 10:30 a.m. at Pittsfield Cemetery with Rev. William D. Furey officiating. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the DERY FUNERAL HOME which is in charge of the arrangements.
